Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box brownie mix (or homemade equivalent)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the brownie batter according to your boxed mix or homemade recipe.
  3. Pour brownie batter into the pan and bake for 20 minutes or until just set.
  4. While baking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Add brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until fully dissolved.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for 2 minutes.
  7. Whisk in eggs and vanilla extract.
  8. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  9. Pour pecan mixture evenly over the partially baked brownies.
  10. Return to oven and bake for another 25–30 minutes, until topping is bubbling and golden.
  11. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar.
  • Make sure the brownies are fully cooled before slicing for cleaner cuts.
