A delicious loaf cake with a cinnamon sugar topping.

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, mix eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar (if using), milk, sour cream, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bread is still warm, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Make sure to not overmix the batter for a tender loaf.
- Optional: Add nuts or raisins for extra texture.
