Description
A delicious and creamy garlic shrimp recipe that is quick and easy to make.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh or thawed peeled and deveined shrimp
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, freshly minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Start by peeling and deveining your shrimp if they aren’t prepped. Pat them dry to ensure they sear perfectly when cooked, giving you a better texture and flavor.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add freshly minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and golden but not burnt, which brings out that wonderful garlicky aroma.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque, ensuring they stay tender and juicy.
- Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes smooth. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Turn off the heat and gently fold in chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and fresh flavor that perfectly balances the richness.
Notes
- Patting the shrimp dry before cooking helps achieve a better sear.
- Be careful not to burn the garlic when sautéing.
- This dish pairs well with pasta or rice.
