- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- Optional Toppings (Chopped pecans or walnuts, powdered sugar for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until well combined.
- Press cake mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, continuing to mix until creamy. Stir in melted butter until fully incorporated.
- Pour cream cheese mixture over cake base and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown but still slightly gooey in the center.
- Let cake cool before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar or sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
- This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt to the cream cheese mixture.
