Description
A delicious and easy honey soy glazed salmon recipe that caramelizes beautifully and is perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound salmon fillet
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cut the salmon fillet into 1-inch cubes, patting them dry with paper towels to ensure proper caramelization later.
- Whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a medium-sized mixing bowl until well combined.
- Add the salmon cubes to the marinade, gently tossing to coat each piece thoroughly. Let them marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Carefully transfer the salmon pieces to the pan, leaving excess marinade behind.
- Cook the salmon for 2-3 minutes undisturbed to develop that beautiful caramelization on the first side. Then gently flip each piece and cook for another 2 minutes until the salmon is just cooked through.
- Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until it reduces to a glossy sauce. The sauce should coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and transfer the salmon bites to serving bowls over rice or your preferred base. Drizzle with the reduced sauce from the pan.
- Garnish with a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving immediately.
Notes
- This dish pairs well with rice or a fresh salad.
- Adjust the red pepper flakes to your heat preference.
